What are the aims of the Quality Assuring Assessment Course?
Participants will develop an understanding of the FETAC quality assuring system and procedures. The course will facilitate participants to:
- Explain the National Framework of Qualification and the Common Awards System.
- Understand the role of FETAC.
- Outline the role and responsibility of an Assessor and the Assessment Process.
- Move towards the Common Awards System.
- Be familiar with Module Descriptors and new component specs.
- Understand programme validation.
- Outline the Authentication Process.
- Describe the principles of Access, Transfer and Progression.
- Examine the principles of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
Who should participate on the Quality Assuring Assessment Course?
Trainers or teachers who are new to the FETAC QA system and who are delivering and assessing FETAC modules for the first time and experienced providers who wish to improve their understanding of assessment and consolidate their knowledge and skills regarding current developments in FETAC.
What is the course duration?
The course is one day in duration and is conducted as a workshop. Active participation on the course is encouraged to maximise learning opportunities and to enable participants to share and learn from prior experiences.
How can I progress from this course?
On completion of this course you can progress to a 3 day accredited Assessment Practice Course FETAC Level 6.
How much does the course cost and what resources are provided?
The cost of the course is €249.00 per participant. This includes expert tuition, course materials, learner support, lunch and refreshments. Please contact us for in-house costs.
