What are the aims of the Accessing Employment and Education Course?
Participants will develop an understanding of the issues facing people with disabilities accessing employment and education.
The course will facilitate participants to:
- Describe the common challenges facing adults with disabilities and specific learning difficulties when entering education and employment.
- Identify possible strategies for overcoming these challenges.
- List agencies and community resources that can assist adults with disabilities and specific learning difficulties when entering education and employment.
Who should participate on the Accessing Employment and Education Course?
The course is aimed at professionals who want to increase awareness of the issues facing adults with disabilities and specific learning difficulties entering education and employment such as 2nd level resource teachers and principals, adult guidance counselors, adult education tutors, adult literacy organizers, and professionals working in the area of job placement.
What is the course duration?
The course is a half day in duration and is conducted as a workshop. Active participation on the course is encouraged to maximise learning opportunities and to enable participants to share and learn from prior experiences.
How much does the course cost and what resources are provided?
The cost of the course is €175.00 per participant. This includes expert tuition, course materials, learner support, lunch and refreshments. Please contact us for in-house costs.
