What are the aims of the FETAC Level 6 Learning Difficulty Awareness Course?
Participants will gain an understanding and awareness of specific learning difficulties. The course gives the participant:
- An opportunity to examine the difficulties encountered by people with Dyspraxia, Dyslexia, Asperger's Syndrome and Attention Deficit (Hyperactivity) Disorder (ADD/ADHD).
- A range of strategies that addresses difficulties associated with specific learning difficulties.
- New approaches to the learning environment in school, college and the workplace.
Who should participate on the FETAC level 6 Learning Difficulty Awareness Course?
Anyone who works with people who are experiencing specific learning difficulties. Learners do not need a previous formal qualification but will be able to fluently read, draft, prepare and understand complex information, including quantitative information, that is personally relevant and reflecting a broad knowledge base. Learners will be able to solve problems well, independently and as part of a range of different groups, accepting personal responsibility for the quality of outcome.

What is the course duration and is the course assessed?
The course runs over 3 days and is assessed through the production of a portfolio of evidence comprising of 3 pieces of assessment, which will require personal learning, reflection and study.
How much does the course cost and what resources are provided?
The cost of the course is €799.00 per participant. This includes expert tuition over 3 days, course materials, FETAC administration, lunch and refreshments. In addition learners are provided with ongoing support and a range of accommodations are possible, according to specific need. Learners will require access to a computer with CD Rom drive to avail fully of course materials. Please contact us to enquire about in-house training costs.
