Access
A course for early school leavers with mild learning difficulties. There are opportunities to become involved in the community by undertaking environmental and recreational projects. Additionally there are Social Opportunities – hostelling trips, bowling & cinema outings, historical & cultural trips.
Choices
A person-centred course for learners with mental health issues. It provides a supportive environment for learners and a chance to develop their self-awareness and to learn new coping skills and to bring about real change in their lives.
Fast Track to Employment in the Services Sector Swords
Combines training in the workplace with training in the centre. Each learner identifies his or her preferred employment area in the services sector & suggests possible host employers. The facilitator arranges a work placement for three days per week for the duration of the course & supports both employer & learner. In the centre the learner follows an individual training plan to meet their needs. Modules leading to a FETAC Level 4 Major Award in Applied Employment Skills will be undertaken. Training may be outsourced if necessary
Freshstart
Designed for those who would like an opportunity to make a new beginning & start a new career after a period out of the workforce. It provides an opportunity to explore vocational opportunities in order to progress to further education &/or employment.
IT with Office Business Skills
Provides learners with the necessary information technology, office & personal effectiveness skills to obtain employment, or progress to further education.
Reach
Reach is a flexible rehabilitative training course for people who have experienced social isolation as a result of a severe and enduring mental illness. It provides participants with the opportunity to develop the level of social & personal skills & independence necessary to achieve integration into the community.
