Evolve to Employment is a vocational rehabilitation service aimed at supporting women with HIV/AIDS to access vocational training opportunities and employment appropriate to their current needs, interests and values.
This service is a collaborative project between National Learning Network Phibsboro and staff and members of Open Heart House http://www.openhearthouse.ie/
Each Monday, female members can avail of group training sessions covering generic topics such as CV preparation and interview techniques. From Tuesday to Friday, the vocational rehabilitation mentor offers one-to-one vocational counselling sessions to support the members to recognise their skills, abilities, and also possible training requirements to make the successful transition to employment. The service is located in Open Heart House alongside therapeutic and welfare clinics already operating from these premises.
Evolve to Employment is a six month pilot project and is supported and funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) through the Human Capital Investment Programme 2007-2013 (HCI OP) www.esf.ie/en/hci-overview.aspx, and also the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform through the Equality for Women Measure and the National Women’s Strategy.
