At NLN in Monaghan we provide a range of free courses to people who have had an accident, illness, injury or have a disability and extra support needs.
Our courses are tailored to each student's needs, to help them to build their confidence while getting practical job-seeking skills to help them get a job or go on to further training.

Courses in this Centre
This training programme is designed to offer learners an opportunity to explore personal, social and vocational skills and includes a high level of integration into the local community. Underpinning this programme is New Directions, a HSE person centred service for adults with disabilities. Modules on offer are delivered in a flexible manner and include activities and methods based on a cross modular approach. Module Codes M1 – M12 offer learners an opportunity to achieve QQI Level 3 Certification leading to a Major Award in Employability Skills (as appropriate.
Employer Based Training enables learners to acquire vocational skills with a host company in the vocational area of their choice. The programme is a combination of on-the-job and in-centre training 60% on-the-job and 40% in-centre. The Employer Based Training Co-ordinator supports both the learner and the employer. Learners choose a vocational training area that interests and suits them and the Employer Based Training Co-ordinator finds a suitable Host Company training placement within the vocational area and locality identified by the learner.

vocational opportunities in order to progress to further education
and/or employment.
The aim of TURAS Programme is to provide participants who have mental health difficulties and who experience a high level of social and community isolation with the opportunity to develop the confidence and key personal and social skills to improve the quality of their lives, make independent and informed choices regarding their lives and to explore recreational and social opportunities in their community. Participants will also be facilitated in exploring further community, training, educational and employment opportunities. Participants will be offered the opportunity to complete modules from the QQI Level 3 Employability Skills Major Award.
