Courses in this Centre
This foundation programme is designed for young adults with mild learning difficulties. The programme in Bray and Stillorgan has been specifically designed for young people and school leavers. The programme is designed to provide a mix of social skills, personal effectiveness, career exploration and vocational skills sampling (facilitating students to sample a range of work options and settings) which will help them to make realistic choices for further training and employment based on their individual strengths and abilities. Literacy and numeracy needs are also addressed as appropriate to each student.
Opportunities to demonstrate the skills, knowledge, and competencies learned in the training centres are identified within the community. This supports students to participate fully as active citizens in their own locality and move towards living independently.
This training programme provides high-quality vocational training to assist
students to learn the skills they need to get and keep a job. It combines
classroom training and an employer-based training placement every week,
to get real life training and experience in a job that the student wants. We
work with local employers and international companies throughout Wicklow
and Dublin. Students can move to employment at any time. The aim of the
course is to train and help you move to employment when you find the right
job.
This training programme provides a wide range of skills in computer
applications that are frequently required for employment (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, Sage) and also online and digital skills (cloud computing, web
authoring, social media and digital marketing). Student CVs are enhanced
by on-going supported work placements throughout the duration of the
course. Students can also complete ECDL & Advanced ECDL as options, if
desired. On completion of the course, students can secure employment in a
wide range of IT and business areas or progress to third level education.
This training programme is aimed at people who want to gain or update skills in
a supportive environment. It is delivered through a flexible blend of centre-based,
home-based and work-based learning. Students attend the centre two days a week,
work from home two days a week and are based in the community or on work
placement for one day a week.
